Schoenoplectiella articulata (previously referred to as Schoenoplectiella sp. 'Triglochinoides') is an interesting and unique native Australian plant to add to your native pond, tank or biotope setup. This uncommon aquatic plant makes a great addition to the aquarium, with its green strap-like leaves and ability to grow in a variety of conditions. The underwater form is reminiscent of plants in the Triglochin genus, another native group of plants.

One of the most interesting features of Bow-Leaf Crimpus is the way its leaves curve and trail in higher flow environments. This creates a dynamic and visually appealing effect in your aquarium or pond. Additionally, this plant has a very distinct emersed form with rigid, hollow, spiky leaves, which can add an extra layer of interest to a pond setup. This emersed form growing out of the water looks very nice in ponds when planted in shallow areas.

One important thing to keep in mind when growing Bow-Leaf Crimpus in your aquarium is to trim down any leaves that make their way to the surface, as they will trigger a transition to the emersed form and disrupt the submersed growth of the plant. Instead of trimming them at the base, trim them halfway up the water column to facilitate a faster transition to the submersed form.

Bow-Leaf Crimpus is a hardy plant that can tolerate a range of water parameters and temperatures ranging from 15-30°C, making it a great choice for a variety of aquatic setups. While this plant can tolerate low to moderate light, it looks best under high light with additional CO2, which will encourange the growth of a much leafier rosette.

Schoenoplectiella articulata is an excellent choice for anyone looking to add a unique and visually interesting plant to their aquatic setup. Its ability to grow in a variety of conditions and its hardiness make it a low-maintenance choice, while its distinctive appearance adds a special touch to any aquarium or pond.
