Ludwigia arcuata, commonly known as Needle Leaf Ludwigia, is an excellent plant for adding vibrant colour to any aquarium. Its thin, pointed leaves grow in shades of red, yellow and orange under bright lighting. Despite its delicate appearance, this plant is quite hardy and easy to grow, making it a good choice for beginner aquariums.

This is a stem plant that will grow fairly tall, but it's best kept trimmed to promote bushy growth. It appreciates high lighting and will reward with narrower leaves and bright colours. However, it can still thrive in low lighting conditions with slower growth and a more subdued green to yellow colouration.

When grown under optimal conditions with proper nutrients, this plant can develop a striking orange-red colouration. It is best to provide CO2 injection, a good nutrient-rich substrate, and regular fertilisation to promote optimal growth and colouration. Ludwigia arcuata can tolerate a wide range of water parameters, but soft to medium-hard water and a slightly acidic pH is preferred.

This attractive, easy-to-grow stem plant can grow very quickly in good condtitions, forming a dense bush of thin, pointy leaves. Its vibrant autumn hues can add a pop of colour to any aquarium, making it a fantastic addition to the aquascape.
