Helanthium bolivianum 'Vesuvius', also known as Echinodorus Vesuvius, is a beautiful and unique rosette-type aquarium plant. This creeping sword-plant has long, thin leaves that grow in a tight spiral, creating a beautiful and eye-catching display in any aquarium. The leaves twist and curl as they grow straight up to a maximum height of about 30cm.

Like other plants in the Helanthium genus, Helanthium bolivianum 'Vesuvius' is a fast grower which spreads via runners along the substrate, forming chains of plants. It is an undemanding plant that requires little attention, making it a great choice for beginner aquarists. It is, however, a heavy root feeder and appreciates plenty of nutrients in the substrate.

This plant is quite versatile, as it can tolerate a range of water parameters and lighting conditions. It can grow well in soft or hard water and does not require high levels of lighting to thrive. Like most plants, it will grow even faster, with denser foliage when provided with stronger lighting and CO2 injection.

Helanthium 'Vesuvius' is an excellent choice for anyone looking for an interesting aquarium plant that is easy to care for and can thrive in a range of aquarium setups. Its stunning spiral leaves and fast growth make it a great addition to any planted tank.
