The classification of this plant, along with almost all other 'Echinodorus' grown in the aquarium hobby, has recently been revised - these plants now belong to the new 'Aquarius' genus.

Aquarius 'Tricolour', commonly known as Echinodorus Tricolour, is an elegant plant which gets its name from the three distinct shades of green that each leaf goes through as it matures, creating a beautiful subdued display in your tank.

As a medium-sized Aquarius, this plant is perfect for adding variety and interest to your aquascape without overpowering it. And with leaves that only range in shades of green, Echinodorus Tricolour is perfect for those looking for a plant with a more natural look.

But don't let its natural appearance fool you - this plant is anything but boring. As each leaf matures, it transforms, with white or very pale green young leaves that become light green with age, then finally turning a deep, rich dark green. This transformation creates a nice contrast in the plant, and makes a nice display in the aquarium.

Echinodorus Tricolour is also a relatively easy plant to care for, making it perfect for both beginner and experienced aquarists. With medium lighting and a nutrient-rich substrate, this plant will thrive in your aquarium.
