The classification of this plant, along with almost all other 'Echinodorus' grown in the aquarium hobby, has recently been revised - these plants now belong to the new 'Aquarius' genus.

Aquarius 'Kleiner Bär', commonly known as Echinodorus Small Bear, is a nice aquatic plant that doesn't grow as large as some of the other Aquarius cultivars. This medium-sized swordplant features densely bunched wide oval leaves on petioles that are almost as long as the leaf itself.
