The classification of this plant, along with almost all other 'Echinodorus' grown in the aquarium hobby, has recently been revised - these plants now belong to the new 'Aquarius' genus.

Aquarius 'Tanzende Feuerfeder', commonly known as Echinodorus Fire Feather, is a large and eye-catching sword plant that is sure to stand out in any aquarium. This cultivar has long and narrow leaves that can grow up to 50cm in length and 6cm in width. When the leaves are new, they emerge pink with dark streaks and flecks across the surface, which make them look like they are dancing in the water (hence the cultivar name, 'dancing fire-feather'). As the leaves age, they slowly fade to a light green colouration.

Echinodorus Fire Feather is a relatively fast-growing plant that requires moderate lighting and regular fertilisation to thrive. It is recommended to provide a nutrient-rich substrate for this plant to grow well. This plant can be grown both as a submerged plant in aquariums and as an emersed plant in large paludariums.

Echinodorus Fire Feather can be used as a background or centerpiece plant in large aquariums, where it can provide a striking contrast to other green plants. Its vibrant and colourful central leaves create a focal point in the aquarium and can draw the eye towards it, adding an exciting touch to your aquarium setup.
